Rod is one of the fastest rising comics in Great Britain. Having supported Paddy “the bouncer” McGuinness from Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights and Max & Paddy’s Road To Nowhere on his 110 night nationwide tour, and appearing with Russell Brand at St.Davids Hall Cardiff in 2007 ,
Rod then won the BBC comedy competition Funny Business in 2008.
The Cardiff born stand-up comic then performed as his alter ego Mario De Niro at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas before Joe Calzaghe’s super fight with Bernard Hopkins. His song “Delilah – the Calzaghe remix” proved a big hit with Joe’s travelling army of fans.
Rod wrote and performed in his own Radio Wales Comedy series “Doing It For A Laugh” – 3 series.
He also wrote and presented the ten part series, “A Bit Off The Fringe” for BBC2 Wales.
Rod was Guest speaker at the Professional Footballers' Association Footballer of the Year Awards dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
In 2014 Rod performed for the the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, on the Royal Variety Performance.
